Look How We’ve Grown

by Samantha Richards

2023 was an empowering year! We grew as a family, thanks to the powerful life changing sermons that helped us consider, consume and be changed by the Word of the Lord. Hungarian and Spanish members began combining their Friday night services and close with an impressive feast. We started having Wednesday morning corporate prayer at 5:30am on Zoom, fasting sometimes, and ending Wednesday evening with thought provoking Bible Studies that stirred up and solidified our faith. Even our youth have faithfully signed on for their early morning prayer on Fridays! Not to mention our power packed leadership breakfast sessions that fed our
tummies and our souls. PenTab is truly a place to learn and grow! Here are our sermon picks of 2023!

On January 1st, Pastor Drysdale shared that instead of being a church who shouts because of the music or the pastor, PenTab Church should ponder and then shout because of the message. Pastor encouraged us to “hit another dimension -one that we don’t know, where eyes have not seen and ears have not heard the things that God has in store - a dimension where we have to go by faith!”

In Spring, Pastor Drysdale delivered a series on Stirring Up. He began with “Stir up your faith” saying about Christ: “He is the son of God! When we stir up our faith about who the Son of God is, it helps us to stir up our faith about everything else in our life”

Over the summer Pastor Drysdale reminded us that: “We are Hell’s Worst Nightmare when we understand spiritual warfare”. We can count it all joy when we face suffering, because blessed arethose who suffer for righteousness sake for theirs
is the Kingdom of Heaven. In September Pastor Drysdale reflected that “we sometimes don’t want the people God sends our way because they are not finished products, but the blessing is in the rejects. He said: “you are safe in this cave” in the sermon series A ChurchReady to Make a Difference.

You can check out these and other sermons from Pastor Drysdale, PenTab’s Friday night services and Sunday guest speakers, including Jason
Crabb, on YouTube and Facebook!
